Music education is often made inaccessible by financial and location-oriented barriers, rendering the opportunity of learning to play an instrument, collaborate in an ensemble, learn to improvise, or experience otherwise beneficial learning practices around music, out of reach for many people.

By leveraging the educational expertise of top musicians and educators around the world and distributing content via a modern digital platform, these barriers are broken to a certain degree.

What we lack in head-count, we excel at in experience, knowledge, and conceptual expression.

Downbeat Academy is a bootstrapped organization, the platform and content has been built from the ground up, and funded by those dedicated to the mission statement. We’re working on ways to transform Downbeat Academy into a profitable endeavor, though feel it’s beneficial to stress the importance of a service-driven architecture. Downbeat Academy is geared towards serving the community that it was fostered within with the sole purpose of building that community for longevity and excellence.
